ServePath Introduces Continuous Data Protection® Fully Managed Backup for Dedicated Servers

“San Francisco, Sept. 10, 2008 — ServePath [MS1]today announced it has partnered with R1Soft, developer of Continuous Data Protection® (CDP) technology, to offer a round-the-clock, fully managed data backup service to clients hosted in its San Francisco, Calif. private data center facility.
ServePath clients with dedicated servers will be able to utilize the next-generation data backup service, offering near-continuous disk-based data backup that virtually eliminates the threat of catastrophic data loss in the event of a disaster. R1Soft’s technology also provides exceptional protection for busy MySQL databases by continually monitoring for changes and updating the most recent restore point.
ServePath will replace its existing managed backup service with R1Soft’s CDP technology, available for both Linux and Windows platforms. Clients pay a small setup fee for each server and a variable monthly fee, depending upon the amount of data they wish to back up. Today’s announcement comes after nearly two years of research and testing of various backup technologies.”
